  5. As always your magazine is great, and I wanted to comment on a comment your LP made in it - about food allergies. She's so right - I have various food allergies in my family, and friends and it's astounding how cavalier some restaurant staff are about it - even after they've been told of an allergy!

I also wanted to give you a heads up - Sirena Ristorante at 9281 Hwy 26 E has astoundingly good, homemade and authentic Italian food - you must get there soon! Antonio Stranges is the GM, Neyka Bobeva Ass't Mgr 446-9696.

    Friday Night
It all began with a bet lost, but in the end I think we won.
While dining a restaurant in the spring our conversation with our server turned to golf and the upcoming Masters tournament. A bet was made on the winner, names were exchanged with the promise that the winner would contact the loser and settle.
Some weeks after the match we returned to the restaurant to make good on our bet. The talk turned to food and entertainment in the area and we were happy to learn that a new dining establishment was preparing to open in the downtown area.
Friday night we decided to take a visit and feel the place out. We parked along side the patio area and caught the eye of an aqua intense enjoying a glass of wine. We sat down to join he and his wife and soon after, we were joined by four of their friends.
Drinks continued into dinner at a table for eight and acquaintances turned into future friends.
I have to describe the space to convey to those who haven’t visited what the place feels like.
The building is ancient; enough of the old has been left to remind us of that. The lighting was soft enough to create an ambience, but bright enough to read the menu.
The tables were plenty but not too close as to take away the sense of privacy that I appreciate while enjoying a meal.
The restaurant has been set up to appeal to those who want a drink and a snack on the patio or at the bar, to those who want to spend an leisurely lunch or evening.
The night we were there a band was playing up by the bar adding to the upbeat atmosphere of the restaurant.
My best wishes for success go out to the proprietors and staff for the fine food, wine and service we received.
Our experience was an enjoyable one from the time we arrived to end of the evening. The night was worth the loss of a bet.
